My OMG goal this month was to make a few pieced blocks for the 50th Anniversary Quilt aka Ella. I pieced 5 blocks. The blue cross I did twice because I miscalculated the width before sewing it up. I still might do it a third time even wider. Or I might applique a few bits in the white spaces. The center block still needs to have the flowers applied down. That can be a goal for another time.
It seems like I made each of the blocks twice. But these are done now.
Blessings,
Chris

Very pretty blocks, Chris and how interesting on what happened to your bobbin. I have never seen that before. Happy quilting, Melisa
ReplyDeleteLovely blocks, your cross looks very good to me. Very strange what happened to your bobbin, as they were identical before. I hope someone will have the explanation.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!
I think your blocks look great! What a great way to piece the quilt so its not overwhelming! Interesting happenings on your bobbin...I never saw that before!
ReplyDeleteFilling a bobbin too tightly can make them bulge (the older models). Don't fill it as full as you would a modern sewing machine bobbin. Try that.
ReplyDeleteSorry for the mishaps! I have quite a few of them myself when making blocks. Or I am just now happy with it, once the block is complete. Your blocks look great, though!
ReplyDeleteThat's going to be a wonderful quilt!
ReplyDeleteHow big are your Ella blocks? They are so pretty.
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty blocks!
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up with Elm Street Quilts One Monthly Goal and congrats on your finish! Happy new year!
