The jury is still out about the Grundge fabric for the setting triangles for Ella. Definitely the colour turquoise. Since I do not have to decide today, I will take all the comments under consideration.
I have, however, discovered a fat quarter from Di Ford-Hall's Moire collection. I could get more of that. It is a richer colour than the Grundge and is an actual reproduction fabric.
And that brown print in the lower right corner is the Sussana Scraps fabric I bought for the setting triangles to go with the stripe in the sashing. I really should finish those applique blocks.
Blessings,
Chris
Absolutely beautiful blocks, Chris...whatever you use for setting them. I’m hopeless at the choosing, sorry.
ReplyDeleteYour applique blocks are so lovely. I like the turquoise fabric better than the brown. Happy stitching!
ReplyDeleteTo me the Grunge is the best choice - the Moire is too busy and directional from what I can tell and could distract from the beautiful blocks. The brown (my opinion) would take over the quilt. I always look at a top and want to see where my eyes will focus. For this quilt I would want the focus to be on the blocks without distraction. I would want to showcase all the blocks. The Grunge stays in the background allowing the blocks to stand out! Just a thought! You are doing some beautiful work on this quilt and so dedicated!
